Peppers On the Point Lake Rotorua was built more than 80 years ago and opened in July 2004. This classic lodge was formerly a family home, but the new owners have worked with a leading New Zealand interior designer to completely refurbish, upgrade and extend the lodge into its current luxurious form. Many of the beautiful antiques in the house provide distinctive links to the lodge‘s history. Surrounded by the sparkling waters of Lake Rotorua, Peppers on the Point offers guests a peaceful and luxurious base from which to experience the rich culture and geothermal wonders of Rotorua. Many of Rotorua‘s main attractions are within a 10minute drive of the property but the lodge feels very remote and peaceful. The twostoried lodge retains a lot of the original charm and design, including large entertaining rooms with open fireplaces, a timberpanelled dining room and a magnificent timber staircase. Guests have the choice of seven exquisitely furnished suites with lounges and spa baths within the lodge, or two lake cottage suites within the grounds that have openair hot tubs on their private decks with panoramic lake views. Fine dining is a speciality of Peppers on the Point. The chef, Reg Hawthorne, offers innovative New Zealand cuisine with a classical influence, accompanied by fine wines from the lodge‘s cellar. The room rate includes breakfast and a fourcourse dinner preceded by drinks and canapes by the fire or on the terrace. The wine cellar provides an intimate, alternative dining space, or guests may dine in the privacy of their suite. The property has expansive 2.8 hectare grounds and offers a range of onsite activities including tennis courts, a private beach, walks through native bush and a jetty where guests can be picked up for fishing and floatplane trips. Linking into Rotorua‘s spa heritage, Peppers on the Point Lake Rotorua also includes a therapeutic health and wellness treatment room and a small guest gym. peppers on the Point is a spectacular lakeside property, providing the finest accommodation in Rotorua, says the general manager, David Smail. once a Maori pa site, the property is steeped in local history of ancient battles, love and life and has a fabulous view out towards historic Mokoia Island.Submit=Add |
